Another day long filled with ceromonies, lessons, and well just sitting around. Well, at least that’s if I was home. Ever since the right of passage Karl has been boring as hell. I mean, he was never too exciting, but he at least had a good story or two that I could tolerate while he was teaching me a new stance, or technique used to bash in a dragons skull. He’s made it harder and harder to excape from his watch, but tonight I needed to get out, Tyra was in town.
Tyra was a scholar… or well kind of. She often visit the local pub, and would share with me a few stories of action and adventure. Most of her stories involved finding a great relic, or thing of great power… She always seemed to be in a different world when discribing these items, or creature of lore, and i quickly figuared out that these ‘boring parts’ were ideal times for me to get a refill, or arrange for late night meeting with a local.
Her descriptions of relic/creatures of great reknown were very much barable, since they always resulted in a epic, or sometimes tragic battle. Sometimes heroes were made, other times empires fell. Each night though, Cmananged to captivate in ways that no one else could. She could describe a battle like no one could, down to each sword swipe, battle cry, and drop of spilt blood. She would always end her stories with these battles……
Tonight she was telling a rather gripping story about Shafire, a wizard who drew upon both divine, and arcane magic. I knew a little about him, as Karl would tell me about many important figuares of history, but I didn’t recall a perticular object that Shafire possessed, the Book of Jade.
This book contained spells that are foreign to the realms. Spells that combine both divine and arcane magic. Tyra‘s eyes gleamed red as she described balls of fire that burned enemies, and healed Shafire almost instantainiously. As the night grew longer, Tyra continued to tells stories of creatures Shafire destroyed using his powerfull combination of magic. I was so entranced by these stories I didn’t notice Karl come in until i felt a sharp pain in my tail, as he stomped on it.
It was a night filled with action and adventure as I fought and destroyed nearly all the creatures that Tyra described at the pub. On my way back too my room, I was already devizing ways to go back to the pub and hear more of Tyra’s stories of adventure.
It turn’s out that I didn’t need to put in much thought into my excape, Tyra was in my room waiting for me. As a Dragonborn, my senses were much more accute than even Karl and although I could barely tell she was in my room, I could smell her by my window.
After Karl left, tyra confidied with me that there was a purpose to her story of Shafire and his [[book-of-jade |book]. She told me that their have been out rumors of it’s appearence on the unexplored island of Nucam.
She also told me about a great dragon, that has disappeared. It’s disappearance has in essense opened up this island to outside visitors, who are fighting over the land, and looking for lost treasure. She also when on to tell me about the hoards of goblins that have emurged in the dragons absense. tyra told me that she wished to undertake a great adventure, to rescue the book, fight back the goblin scum, and slay the dragon, if it still exists.
It didn’t take me long to pack my bags…
